About

My name is Alexander Mills and I am a 19 year old student currently studying for a BSc in Computer Science at Aberystwyth University. I'm originally from the West Midlands, and I moved to Aberystwyth in September 2008 when I began my degree.

Before university, I was heavily involved in a number of security-related discussion groups and I am still very much interested in the security aspect of computing.

I've been developing websites for the past 9 years. I taught myself HTML from a library book in my own time and since then, I have taught myself more scripting and programming languages. This has only encouraged my enthusiasm for the subject. I have had many servers running different operating systems, leading to an in-depth knowledge of most UNIX-like environments.

In my spare time I enjoy socialising, supporting West Bromwich Albion Football Club, playing the electric guitar, reading and listening to music.

This server is called anubis, as the naming convention I employ for my machines is ancient Egyptian gods and godesses. It is running CentOS release 5.4 (Final), Apache+PHP 5.1.6 and mysql 5.0.77.
